We have had a VERY busy week! Wednesday we were visited by Ned, a "Yo Yo-ist", Thursday we celebrated our Veterans as 4th grade sang patriotic songs to us, and Friday we enjoyed a presentation of jump ropers.
What's going on in class:
Reading-
This week learned all about the struggles the delegates encountered, and compromises they had to make while writing the Constitution. Next week we will continue reading about the Constitution and James Madison to find out why he is called the Father of our Constitution.
Writing-
This week we continued working on our poetry packets in order to prepare our awesome poetry books! We also got to hear a survivor's story, and write about his adventure using our root words this week. Next week we will be learning about verb tenses and subject verb agreement, as well as continuing our poetry lessons.
Science-
This week we started our unit on weather and the water cycle. We explored the different types of instruments we use to measure weather data and then designed our own line of tools to sell. Next week we'll begin gathering our own weather data and learning about air pressure.
Math-
Students learned about factors. They listed them and then found the Greatest Common Factor of 2 numbers. They also learned how to list equivalent fractions, and then to find them by multiplying. NEXT WEEK: We will review simplest form. The unit test will be on Friday.
