This week our root is vit/viv which means "life".
After going over the list of root words like survival, vital, survivor, and revive, I immediately thought of a movie my sister was telling me about. It's a movie based on a true story about a hiker who got stuck under a bolder and had to cut off his own arm in order to survive. I found an interview with the man, Aron Ralston, and decided it needed to be used for our lesson this week!
Tomorrow students will be watching the interview (careful...it's kind of hard to stomach when he describes the part about cutting off his arm :P) and then writing an essay using their root words.
